Zappos hacked… Will your faith in the brand be shaken?

Well, another online retailer hacked, and yes, my account is included.  According to the carefully worded email from Zappos, there’s a chance that my email, shipping address and last four digits of my credit card may have been accessed (and yours too?). New year…new job? What should you do in your first 100 days?

With the start of the new year, many of my colleagues have started new jobs or new roles.  It reminded me that a friend of mine wrote a book on leadership and what to do when starting a new job.  The book is titled The New Leader’s 100-Day Action Plan: How to Take Charge, Build Your Team, and Get Immediate Results.  As the title implies, the book walks you through how to get off to a great start in a new role, but I have found it useful to reread it at the beginning of this year to refocus my attention on what’s important....

End of year digital clean up!

Friends and colleagues…  As the end of the year approaches, this week is the perfect time to do a little digital housecleaning.  Here’s my list: Passwords: Review major sites and applications and change passwords if you haven’t done so in a while.  I save my information in a password protected file that is backed up.  With so many sites now requiring varying levels of security, it’s nearly impossible to have one username and password combo anymore (nor should you), so trust me, keep a list…and somewhere safe....
